Summary.

The Carrier Payable Team Leader is responsible for submitting timely and accurate payments to insurance carriers. While supervising the offshore processing team and working closely with internal insurance carrier relations, this position will also be responsible for assisting in the review and resolution of billing discrepancies, unpaid items, and payment reconciliations.

What You'll Do.

Key Responsibilities.

  • Oversee daily accounting functions including agency bill billing, cash and refund processing, trust accounting, and bank reconciliations.
  • Utilize accounting software (Applied Epic, NetSuite, and Comulate) and to manage reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Supervise offshore processing team in completion of daily tasks.
  • Engage professionally with franchises and insurance carriers, utilizing platforms such as Atlassian Jira to manage tickets and resolve issues. Demonstrate strong communication skills and confidence in addressing concerns with partners.
  • Focus on process improvement and documentation to reconcile agency bill transactions, statements, and cash activity, including implementation of new accounting tools.
  • Troubleshoot, review, and correct as needed any agency bill discrepancies to ensure transactions are entered correctly.

Your Experience.

  • 2-5 years insurance, accounting, or data analyst experience.
  • Insurance accounting or commissions experience (HUGE plus).
  • Ability to learn other software systems, and experience with insurance and accounting software, including Applied Epic, AMS360, Workday, NetSuite, Atlassian Jira, Zendesk, Comulate, Mircosoft Excel.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to implement change and has a mindset for process improvement.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment in sensitive situations.
