Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Specialist specializing in Microbiology to join our dynamic team. This role involves performing various microbiological tests and ensuring the quality control of supplies and procedures in a sterile laboratory environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in our expanding team, contributing to the validation and testing of finished goods.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily microbiological testing, including work under a sterile hood, spread plate, enrichments, sub-cultures, gram staining, coagulation tests, fungi identification, and microscope work.
• Ensure quality control of microbiological supplies and perform growth promotion testing and water testing.
• Complete detailed documentation and paperwork in SAP and by hand, following SOPs and GMPs.
• Perform environmental monitoring and swabbing in manufacturing areas at scheduled times.
• Coordinate the shipping of samples for outsourced testing to third-party laboratories.

Work Environment

The position operates Sunday through Thursday from 2 : 00 PM to 11 : 00 PM with a 30-minute lunch break. Initially, training will occur on the first shift for two weeks before transitioning to the second shift schedule. The role involves working in a sterile lab setting under a sterile hood and occasionally on the manufacturing floor. The team-oriented culture emphasizes communication across shifts, with a focus on training and development for newer team members. You will be part of a small team with 1st, 2nd, and weekend shifts currently functioning.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00 / hr.
