Job Summary
In a collaborative manner, the Paramedic provides support to Medical Providers, Radiologic Technologists, and patients through a variety of clinical and administrative tasks. Responsibilities include front desk registration, vital sign collection, medical history intake, point-of-care testing, medication administration, and assisting with in-office procedures.
Essential Functions
- Create and maintain a welcoming environment for patients through exceptional customer service.
- Verify insurance information and collect / process co-payments and deductibles.
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate provider referrals.
- Secure patient information and maintain confidentiality through accurate medical recordkeeping and coding.
- Conduct patient interviews, record medical history, and confirm visit purpose.
- Prepare patients for exams by performing vital signs and reporting history summaries.
- Assist providers with evaluations and in-office procedures; notify providers of abnormal findings.
- Perform point-of-care testing for various conditions; conduct phlebotomy, wound care, and EKGs.
- Administer medications per protocols approved by the local Medical Director.
- Prepare for procedures such as suturing, incision and drainage, and foreign body removal.
- Perform IV catheter insertion, fluid administration, splinting, and venipuncture.
- Perform BLS emergency care and manage environmental emergencies.
- Conduct daily equipment checks, calibrations, and submit repair tickets.
- Perform courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up.
- Other duties as assigned.
