The Women's Health Director (WHNP) is a dual-role position combining advanced clinical practice with administrative leadership. This individual provides comprehensive women's health care while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Women and Children's Health Program. The Women's Clinic Director ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care and leads initiatives that address social determinants of health for women and children, including programs like Baby2Baby, doula services, guaranteed basic income, and other supportive services.
Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities (60%)
- Provide full-scope women's health care, including preventive, reproductive, prenatal / postpartum, and gynecologic services.
- Conduct patient assessments, diagnose conditions, develop treatment plans, and prescribe medications.
- Perform procedures such as Pap smears, contraceptive counseling, STI testing / treatment, and menopause management.
- Collaborate with providers, other clinic staff, and community partners to ensure holistic care.
- Educate patients on health promotion, disease prevention, and wellness strategies.
- Provide family-centered primary healthcare to women of all ages
- Provide routine gynecological services including reproductive health visits, regular gynecologic care (i.e., annual exams) and peri / post-menopausal care and preventive care
- Consult with other agencies and other health and social care professionals to ensure continuity of care
Administrative & Leadership Responsibilities (40%)
Program Development & Management :Lead women's health program strategy and operational deliveryDrive innovation by identifying gaps in care and developing creative, culturally responsive solutionsDesign, implement, and evaluate women's programs addressing social determinants of health (maternal-child health and reproductive justice).Oversee initiatives like Baby2Baby, Guaranteed Basic Income and other support programs.Work with administrative and clinic teams to monitor program outcomes, analyze data, prepare reports and grants for stakeholdersManage multiple projects simultaneously with a strong attention to timelines, deliverables and outcomesStaff Supervision & Clinic Operations :Supervise women's department staffLead cross-departmental initiatives to integrate women's health service into broader operationsConduct performance evaluations, provide training, and foster a collaborative team environment.Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA, grant requirements).Optimize workflows to improve patient access and clinic efficiency.Community Engagement & Advocacy :Build relationships with community organizations, government agencies, and donors.Represent the center in public forums and coalitions advocating for policies that advance women's health equity.Develop outreach strategies to engage underserved populations.Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
Must have 5+years of clinical experience as an MD, DO, NP or PA, preferably in a clinic settingKnowledge of women's health programs and practicesSuccessful experience managing people and working on teams.Demonstrated commitment to reproductive and gender justice, health equity and working with a diverse community.Lead to ensure a culture of inclusivity, collaboration and continuous improvement in the organizationStrong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with cultural humility and sensitivityPassion for advancing women's health and equity and reducing disparities.Job Posted by ApplicantPro
