General Maintenance Worker

Join an elite mission supporting U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in the Southern California region, where your hands-on expertise will help maintain the performance and safety of a vast portfolio of federal facilities. As a General Maintenance Worker on DAWSON's operations team, you'll carry out essential repairs and preventive maintenance tasks across a variety of systems and structuressupporting CBP's critical mission at ports of entry, field offices, and border patrol stations. Your versatility and attention to detail will keep facilities safe, efficient, and ready for service at all times.

Location : Southern California (San Diego / El Centro Region)

Responsibilities :

• Perform a wide range of building maintenance tasks including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical work.
• Troubleshoot and repair door hardware, locks, ceiling tiles, cabinetry, light fixtures, sinks, toilets, faucets, and flooring materials.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on facility infrastructure, including filter changes, minor painting, fixture replacements, and system inspections.
• Respond to service calls, work orders, and emergency maintenance issues in accordance with contract response time requirements.
• Maintain service logs, parts usage records, and digital updates in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Assist tradespersons and technicians in the completion of more complex repair and maintenance work as directed.
• Support seasonal facility preparation, storm readiness, and safety inspections.
