Desert Sage Health Centers believes in patient-focused care delivered through a caring team of competent and caring health care professionals. As a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH), Desert Sage Health Centers prides itself in the quality of care it delivers to more than 7,800 annual patients at three health center site locations. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSBILIITIES
Clinical care-Identifies and evaluates dental needs of individuals by conducting a dental history and reviewing their medical history; conducts oral exams of the hard and soft tissue of the mouth checking for decay, plaque accumulation and other anomalies; evaluates periodontal health by probing; performs scaling and root planning; administers oral prophylaxis and topical fluoride treatments; discusses causes and solutions to oral hygiene problems with patients; checks and maintains dental equipment and sharpens and sterilizes instruments.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS / CRITERIA
1. Performs clinical / dental services at an average rate of at least one patient per hour.
2. Provides clinical / dental services to at least 700 - 800 individuals over a twelve month
period.
3. Follow and implement all CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA policies and procedures.
4. Awareness / acceptance of cultural competency and sensitivity aspects.
5. Possess and utilize good and effective communication skills.
6. Responsible to learn and implement the DSHC electronic dental record (EDR) program
following health center policies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Idaho, including local anesthesia administration credentials
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Public health experience.
Salary is DOE.
