School Social Worker - Special Education

Job Goal(s) :

The primary goal is to improve the success of students with disabilities in school through service and consultation with students, teachers, parents, administrators, and community agencies.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education : Masters Degree in social work required

Certification : Michigan approval or eligible for approval as a school social worker and registered with Board of Social Work, Michigan Department of Community Health required

Work Experience : Previous school social work experience is preferred

Skills :

Knowledge within the following areas :

• School-based consultation and service
• Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and progress monitoring
• Special Education evaluation processes
• Collaboration with family, school and community agencies
