Patient Care Technician / ICU / Part Time / Days Delivers direct / indirect care to patients of all ages from neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, and adult to geriatric, under the delegation / direction / supervision of a physician, registered nurse, and / or licensed practical nurse. Assists in maintaining a safe, clean environment and performs clerical / administrative functions as assigned. Demonstrates critical thinking / clinical reasoning in decision making to assure the delivery of safe, quality, timely, compassionate, and cost-effective care to the patient populations served by the department(s) / unit(s) / area(s). Effectively communicates and collaborates both intra- and interdepartmentally with patients, families, physicians, administration and other healthcare team members. Documents accurately and in a timely manner. Adheres to organizational policies and procedures; and regulatory / accrediting body requirements.

Under the delegation / direction / supervision of the physician, registered nurse, and / or licensed practical nurse and within the scope of practice, provides / assists with and accurately documents activities of daily living (ADLs) which include but are not limited to :

  • Bathing
  • Dressing and undressing
  • Oral care
  • Hair Care
  • Toileting
  • Personal hygiene
  • Mobility as activity order allows

Requirements :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current STNA (State Tested Nurse Aide) certification preferred. For Emergency Department only current STNA (State Tested Nurse Aide) or EMT-B (Emergency Medical Technician Basic) certification preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification required
  • Previous neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and / or geriatric patient care experience preferred.
