Indian River Hospital is looking to add a Medical Assistant to the Medical Pre-Anesthesia Clearance (MPAC) Clinic. In this role, you will use medical and administrative skills to facilitate patients through their surgical journey and support health care staff under the supervision of a physician or nurse. A caregiver in this position works days from 8 : 00AM 4 : 30PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will :

• Assist with performing screening and treatments by gathering information related to health maintenance, collecting specimens and documenting patient care.
• Update health maintenance at patient visits, accurately identify medication changes and update allergy information at each visit.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Administer specific medications under the direction of the provider.
• Maintain equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning and troubleshooting.
• Maintain examination areas.
• Assist in pre-visit planning by updating the health maintenance tab.
• Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration.
