The Emergency Room Tech assists in the provision of patient care in accordance with State and Federal guidelines under the director of a licensed nursing personnel, P.A. and / or physician personnel.
Schedule - Mid- shift, 3 12-hour shifts (37.5 hours a week). MUST be able to work one of the following : 10am-11pm, 12pm-1am, OR 2pm-3am

Responsibilities :
Performs EKGsPerforms phlebotomyPerforms vital signs and pain scalePlaces splintsRemoves and applies simple dressingsAssists in applications of restraints as directed by physicians and registered nursesTransports patients to CT, OR, floorsDocuments appropriately in electronic medical recordProvides patient education as directed by RNParticipates as a member of PAMI team, Trauma team including specific responsibilities in the EDParticipates as a member of the Medic Alert team throughout the hospitalStocks patient rooms, pyxis machines and supply carts as necessaryAssists in procedures under the direction of MDs and RNsCompletes temperature logs as requestedParticipates in education and training of new staff and studentsParticipates in a supports performance improvement and risk management activitiesAssumes role of Patient Care Attendant (as necessary) and completes required PCA logPerforms all duties with a focus on patient and customer satisfaction and in keeping with the Planetree philosophyQualifications Required :
Minimum of high school diploma, GED or equivalent required.EMT- B certification OR EMT- B certification in progress OR one + years as ED technician in similar setting and / or third- or fourth-year nursing student required with EMT-B certification.Experience in hospital or medical setting preferred.BLS required.
