Director Data Science R&D

Solve complex healthcare challenges at the forefront of innovation. Highmark Health is seeking a Director Data Science R&D to pioneer the introduction of new analytical approaches and transform complex data into actionable insights. You'll be a catalyst for change, collaborating with senior leaders to implement data-driven strategies aligned with the Quintuple Aim. Essential Responsibilities :

  • Perform management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to : involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity.
  • Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.
  • Develop and deliver the vision, strategy, development, and coordinate execution of Highmark Health's data science capability.
  • Represent the entire Advanced Analytics group as the number one stakeholder for Highmark's analytical data products.
  • Oversee delivery of novel data science use cases.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

Education :

  • Required : Doctorate degree in STEM, Health Services Research or related field OR Master's Degree in STEM, Health Services Research, Business or related field with 7 years of relevant work experience.
  • Preferred : None

    • Experience :

  • Required : 10 years of Advanced Statistical Analysis + 5 years in Management and / or Leadership role + 3 years of Consulting and / or working with Senior Leaders.
  • Preferred : 3 years of Product Ownership + 3 years in Healthcare Industry + 1 year of Research and Development / Innovation.

    • Pay Range Minimum : $126,400.00 Pay Range Maximum : $236,000.00 Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate's qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
