Southwest General Medical Group, Inc. - Behavioral Health provides assessment, counseling, crisis intervention and self-help services. Our experienced, board-certified psychiatrists work with adult and geriatric patients to help them deal with mental health or chemical dependency issues and life-changing events (such as the loss of a loved one or divorce).

We provide individual and family-counseling services for a variety of issues including, but not limited to :

HOURS :

Monday – Friday, 8 : 30 A.M. – 5 : 00 P.M., with varied start and end times

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Mental Health / Addictions Social Worker provides psychosocial support and interventions for necessary patients (as directed by the providers). Participates with the physician, nurses, Mental Health Specialist, counselors, NPs, and other professional members of the team in the development of treatment plans. Provides family services for patients upon provider’s request. Serves as the liaison between the patient’s community life and their treatment in the office. Provides in-office consultation and information in response to requests from the providers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Education :

Graduate from an accredited graduate school of social work.

Required length of experience :

Two years’ work experience in providing mental health services. Knowledge of medical and psychiatric terminology and diagnostic criteria. Knowledge of community resources and managed care organizations.

Required licensure, certification, and / or registry :

Licensed as an LISW in the State of Ohio.
