We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners who have urgent care emergency room experience or high acute family medicine experience treating both adult and pediatric patients to join our welcoming and diverse community of providers in the surrounding region .

Job Summary

Urgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats colds flu-like symptoms cuts sprains and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.

Job Requirements

Education

Bachelors Degree for Physician Assistants

Masters Degree for Nurse Practitioners

Work Experience

One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience . Will consider 2 years of Family Medicine experience.

Required Licenses / Certifications

National Certification

Active state medical licensure

Additional Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferred

Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing splinting casting etc.

Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays .

Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting .

Additional Knowledge Skills and Abilities Preferred

Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records

Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills

Strong communication and customer service skills

Essential Functions

Essential functions are those tasks duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the jobs purpose and objectives . Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable. Following are the essential functions of the job.

Examining and treating patients

Taking patients medical histories

Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays

Making diagnoses and prescribing medications

Treating minor injuries that may require sutures splints or casting

Recording progress notes for follow-up patients

Educating and counseling patients

Ordering and / or carrying out therapy with patients

Giving vaccinations and referring patients to additional care

Each provider will work an anticipated eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift which will be assigned by an authorized representative of GoHealth Urgent Care

All other duties as assigned
