As an Accounting Manager, you'll play a vital role in advancing that mission by ensuring financial integrity and operational excellence across a truly impactful healthcare organization.
JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY :
The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the monthly and quarterly close process, responsible for areas such as revenue recognition and cost of sales, gross margin analysis, general ledger accounting, operating expense accruals, and team management. As a people manager in a fast-paced, publicly traded healthcare company, this individual will oversee the preparation of various workflows that contribute to the overall consolidated financial statements in compliance with US GAAP. This role provides technical accounting guidance, ensures adherence to internal controls, and partners across departments to support business initiatives, accounting best practices, and continuous process improvements. The manager has proven experience managing staff, and a solid understanding of the healthcare provider industry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES :
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
- Lead all aspects of revenue accounting and recognition under ASC 606, including analysis of complex arrangements, ensuring compliance, and maintaining internal controls over revenue and related accounts.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate new business models, acquisitions, and system integrations, ensuring accurate accounting treatment and operational alignment across the organization.
- Manage audit activities and deliverables, including documentation for external auditors, technical accounting analyses, and financial disclosures for SEC reporting.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls that support accuracy, efficiency, and compliance within the financial reporting process.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional growth while driving continuous process improvement and accountability in financial operations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
Strong technical accounting knowledge with a thorough understanding of US GAAP, ASC 606, and internal controls.Demonstrated ability to manage complex close processes and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and sound professional judgment.Effective communication skills with the ability to translate complex accounting issues to non-technical stakeholders.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis) and experience with ERP systems such as Sage Intacct or similar.Proven ability to lead teams, build cross-functional relationships, and drive process improvements.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently when neededDESIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND / OR TRAINING :
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred.5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in public accounting and 2 years in management or supervisory role.Experience with revenue recognition (ASC 606).Experience in healthcare, medical services, or a regulated industry preferred.Extensive experience with SOX compliance.SQL or data analysis experience preferred but not required.The estimate displayed represents the typical wage range of candidates hired.
