Overview
As McKesson transitions its Medical-Surgical business unit into a new independent entity, we are seeking a Director of Finance Project Management to lead a team of Project Managers overseeing separation-related initiatives across Finance, Contract Management, Contract Administration, Chargebacks, and PSSP workstreams. This position provides strategic oversight for finance transformation projects that enable TSA exit readiness and establish sustainable post-separation operations. The ideal candidate brings program leadership experience in transformation environments, with the ability to manage complexity, anticipate risk, and deliver results across multiple interdependent functions. This role is pivotal in ensuring execution excellence, stakeholder alignment, and organizational readiness within the ATV program.
Focus Areas : Financial Transformation & Strategic Integration
- Operational Readiness : Lead the program-level execution of finance separation projects to establish independent systems, processes, and governance.
- Program Leadership : Oversee multiple workstreams including Finance, Contract Management, Contract Administration, Chargebacks, and PSSP to ensure consistent progress and alignment.
- Governance & Controls : Establish strong governance, documentation standards, and decision tracking to ensure compliance and accountability throughout the separation.
- Stakeholder Alignment : Partner with Controllership, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and other key stakeholders to ensure transparent communication, issue escalation, and timely decision-making.
- Talent & Team Development : Build, coach, and empower a high-performing team of Finance Project Managers, driving collaboration, consistency, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of Project Managers responsible for delivering finance-related separation projects across multiple workstreams.Drive governance, execution, and reporting of project portfolios to ensure alignment with the overall ATV roadmap and finance strategy.Partner with finance and transformation leadership to define priorities, manage interdependencies, and ensure smooth transitions during TSA exit.Provide mentorship, coaching, and operational direction to PMs, ensuring consistent project discipline and accountability.Develop and maintain oversight of integrated project plans, dependencies, risk registers, and key decision logs.Serve as a key escalation point for finance-related risks, challenges, and decision-making across the ATV portfolio.Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to ensure timely delivery of systems, process designs, and readiness milestones.Support and drive change management efforts to ensure effective adoption and process continuity post-separation.Prepare leadership presentations, updates, and program-level reports for governance bodies and senior executives.Qualifications
7+ years of experience in project or program management, with at least 35 years in direct or indirect management of other Project Managers.Proven ability to lead large-scale transformation or separation initiatives involving finance, operations, and shared services.Strong understanding of finance operations, systems integration, and cross-functional dependencies within enterprise environments.Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing project teams within complex, matrixed organizations.Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.Experience managing portfolios across Finance, Contract Management, or related business functions preferred.We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.
