Job Description :
Tribal Child Support is seeking a Finance Assistant based in Anchorage, AK. The rate of pay starts at $26.75-$28.41 per hour, DOE with 37.5 hours per week. The individual will work closely with the Tribal Child Support Coordinator while providing program support and perform Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions for the Tribal Child Support Program including, but not limited to; ensuring that client child support payments are received and disbursed at the correct percentages to the necessary parties within stringent timelines / guidelines, conducting complex investigations of financial records, assisting staff and clients about payments; data entry; ledger reconciliation; client financial file maintenance, researching and understanding complex regulations and / or procedures for Tribal Child Support. Perform Program and Finance Assistant functions for the Tribal Child Support Program including, but not limited to : Performing administrative tasks such as filing, ordering supplies, making copies, and assisting staff and clients with questions about the program; data entry; document certification; program reporting; scheduling meetings and preparing meeting agendas, taking notes, keep running task lists from meetings, and follow up on the progress of tasks.
Qualifications :
Minimum : High School Graduate with one year of Administration Support or closely related field.
Applicant must be : Knowledgeable about Child Support and local state and tribal governments, or committed to continuous learning and professional development. The TCSP Finance Assistant will : interact with tribal parents, managers, and professional and clerical employees effectively, tactfully, and cooperatively; communicate clearly and effectively (both orally and in writing); work independently under limited direction; organize work; set priorities to meet critical deadlines; maintain accurate case notes; practice basic mentoring and assessment skills; manage crises calmly and positively; refer clients to necessary resources within the community and state-wide; promote Alaska Native and American Indian culture and / or community-based resources; and interact positively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, particularly American Indians / Alaska Native clients.
