Billing Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Billing Specialist with Deltek software experience to join our fast-paced accounting team. This role is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant billing to clients and customers. Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and issue accurate customer invoices in accordance with company policies and client agreements
Verify billing data, including pricing, contract terms, and project or PO details
Maintain billing schedules and ensure timely delivery of invoices to customers
Resolve billing discrepancies by collaborating with internal departments (sales, operations, and accounting)
Process billing adjustments, credits, and refunds as necessary
Record and reconcile customer payments and support accounts receivable collections when needed
Maintain organized and up-to-date billing and customer account records
Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciliations and revenue reporting
Support audits and provide documentation as required
Recommend improvements to streamline billing processes and enhance accuracy
Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
35 years of experience in billing, invoicing, or accounts receivable (non-medical industry)
Strong understanding of billing procedures and general accounting principles
Proficiency with Deltek software REQUIRED
Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, filters, etc.)
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment
Team-oriented with a proactive and problem-solving mindset
