Job description

Job Summary

  • Responsible for providing nursing care to patients under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse.
  • Perform routine direct patient care activities following established policies and procedures in a manner conducive to the safety and comfort of the patient.
  • Perform observations of patients and reports changes in patient condition to the registered nurse.
  • Perform specific skills including phlebotomy and point of care testing (POCT).
  • Assist in all aspects of daily living activities for the patients, including, but not limited to general hygiene of the patient, changings, light housekeeping, and patient vitals.

    Qualifications

    Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

    • Experience

  • Prior direct patient care experience preferred, but not required for employment.

    • Certification and Licensure

  • BLS Certification

    • Med / Surg, PCU, Telemetry, Ortho Units :

    We are the designated stroke hospital with a TPA administration within 45 minutes of arrival. With an 30 Bed Med / Surg unit. We have an average daily census of 30 patients. The Pottstown Med / Surg has 2 floors to support our adult to geriatric patients. They see a wide variety of patients from Cardiac Comorbitities, DVT, Sepsis, Pneumonia, and Post Op Care.
