American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) position in an acute care setting, requiring a ND or compact RN license and strong fetal monitoring skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care hospital LDRP unit with 7 labor and delivery beds and 8 postpartum bedsPatient population includes obstetric and neonate cases, with a focus on pregnancies over 36 weeks, hypertension, and gestational diabetesAssignment includes days with call, every other weekend, and every other holiday requirements12-hour shifts with 0645-1915 and 1845-0715 options; block scheduling available, self-scheduling not offeredFloating required to MedSurg or ER as needed, with permanent staff typically first to floatOn-unit OR suite for C-sections and average of 58 births per monthTitrate drips such as pitocin, insulin, and magnesiumUses Meditech EMR and Traceview / PIP electronic fetal monitoring systemPhilips telemetry monitors used for fetal monitoringProvide comprehensive care through labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum, including titration and interpretation of fetal stripsRNs work with a team including a charge nurse, CNAs, and surgical techsThree shifts of unit-specific orientation providedMaroon scrubs are provided and must be changed into upon arrival on the unitObstetric and neonatology coverage and anesthesia are not in-house 24 / 7Holiday coverage and every other weekend are requiredAdditional requests for time off beyond initial submission will not be approved\n \n Requirements\n
Active ND or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum of 2 years Labor & Delivery experience requiredCurrent certifications required : BLS and Intermediate Fetal MonitoringAbility to read and interpret fetal strips independentlyPrevious travel nursing experience requiredMust have critical thinking skills and experience titrating IV dripsReferences required : one supervisor from the last 12 months and a peer or supervisor from the last 3 yearsCandidates must live at least 50 miles from the facilityCandidates may not have been employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the last 12 months\n Benefits\n
