The Sales Manager will be relied upon to facilitate the sales of weddings and events while maximizing opportunities for additional events during wedding or event weekends. Job Responsibilities :
Prospect, schedule, and follow-through with appointments for guests to view our facilities and give an overview of our packages and resort optionsDetermine and confirm availability of event space, lodging, and food and beverage needsSell room blocks with wedding salesCreate proposals based on needs, interests, and expectations of the wedding couple, encompassing all facets of the resortClose sales and all aspects of sales managementWrite multi-layered contracts and agreements covering all aspects of a wedding / wedding weekendAttend regional bridal showsCollect payment from guestsCoordinate all details leading up to and including the day of the event with the catering teamPrepare Event Orders for distribution. Communicate and confirm any event changes with the appropriate staffComplete Event Orders with guaranteed counts, settle any financial debts or credits. Mail thank-you letters along with a guest questionnaireLook out for the safety of our staff and guestsEnsure that our guests enjoy their stay with usMust be very flexible with your schedule as weekend availability is requiredWork closely with our Banquet Leader and his / her coordinatorsWork as a strong team with other Sales Managers to ensure no double ballroom bookingsParticipate in weekly Group Impact Meetings and BEO Meetings, addressing issues and concerns for stakeholder groups relative to the wedding segmentDaily use of Catering and CRM software to book event space and create BEO'sAnswer questions from guests via email, including but not limited to, vendor recommendations, hotel room blocks, onsite amenities, etc.Build rapport and establish trust with clients and guests; ensure clients and guests feel welcome and are given prompt, friendly, and courteous serviceFollow up with any guest complaints and ensure full resolutionSolicit and review client, guest, and manager feedbackStay current on all trends to remain competitive within the event industry and ensure continuous improvementEnsure events are executed at the highest standards set by protocol with the catering teamEnsure safety and security procedures are followedWork as a team with catering department to ensure a smooth transition and planning process for all guestsAssist with training and mentoring team members when necessaryFollow all standard operating procedures (SOPs)Develop vendor relationships, attend networking meetings, and plan bridal eventsPerforms other duties as assignedJob Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree preferredMust have a minimum of 3 years' experience in progressive leadership roles within the hospitality industry in lieu of degreeMinimum of 2 years in a supervisory / management role within the hospitality industryDemonstrated success in creating creative and practical solutions to increase employee productivity and maximize profitabilityAn exceptional "eye" for detail of event execution, hospitality culture, venue conditions, and required human capital skill setsPossess the ability to interpret financial and operating reports and plan / budget with financial staffAn effective communicator with excellent written and verbal skills for client, employee, and vendor interactionsOutstanding organizational skillsA collaborator with leadership teams to optimize client experience, productivity, and financial resultsRelationship managementStrong work ethicGood interpersonal skillsMeticulous attention to detailSelf-Starter
