Analytical Toxicologist III
As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen, lawful resident alien, citizen of American Samoa or other territory owning permanent allegiance to the United States.
As a Senior Analytical Toxicologist, I perform intricate analyses on biological specimens and serve as a subject matter expert for the military drug testing community and AFMES postmortem mission. Leading research projects, supervising junior personnel, and scheduling resources, I introduce method development ideas based on challenges. Serving as an expert in Forensic Toxicology for AFMES and the DoD Drug Testing Program, I provide screening, confirmation, quantitative data, and contribute to SOP revisions, research teams, and special testing as directed by laboratory management.

Analytical Toxicologist III Responsibilities Include :
Perform complex analyses on biological specimens.Serve as a subject matter expert to the military drug testing community and AFMES postmortem mission.Lead research and analytical projects, introducing ideas for method development based on challenges within AFMES and the postmortem / human performance drug testing community.Supervise and review data generated by junior personnel.Schedule personnel and equipment resources for optimal efficiency.Implement research and method development ideas post-completion.Serve as an expert in the area of Forensic Toxicology for AFMES and the Department of Defense (DoD) Drug Testing Program.Provide screening and confirmation data, quantitative data, and full scan mass spectra.Implement corrective action measures and contribute to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) revisions, updates, and improvements.Chair research teams and participate as an analyst in research programs.Develop, complete, and implement research improvements.Perform all special testing as directed by laboratory management.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Analytical Toxicologist III Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested :
A minimum of a Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Toxicology, Pharmacology, or a related field. A Ph.D. may be preferred.Typically requires 5-10 years or more of relevant experience in analytical toxicology.Advanced proficiency in a broad range of analytical techniques and instrumentation, including gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS).Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and overseeing analytical toxicology laboratories.In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements and guidelines related to toxicology, including expertise in forensic and clinical toxicology procedures.Strong experience in quality assurance practices within a laboratory setting to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.Exceptional communication skills for reporting findings, leading teams, and providing expert testimony.Substantial experience and contributions to research projects, publications, or advancements in the field of toxicology.Proven supervisory experience, including overseeing junior staff, project management, and resource allocation.Laboratory Leadership :Significant experience in a leadership role within an analytical toxicology laboratory, managing and guiding staff.Successful resolution of complex analytical cases and challenges in the field of toxicology.Demonstrated expertise in method development, especially in response to analytical challenges experienced within the field.Experience in leading and managing complex research and analytical projects.Proven ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, law enforcement, and other stakeholders.Experience serving as an expert witness in legal proceedings related to toxicology.Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.Company Information :
