Job Title : PXO Maintenance Mechanic (Electrician)

Essential Job Duties
- Must be proficient at assembly installation wiring connections testing troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical equipment apparatus fixtures motors and motor control circuits (single and three phase 120 to 480 volt alternating current (a.c.)) panelboards and switchgears.
- Must be proficient at building interior electrical distribution systems.
- Must be able to measure cut thread bend assemble and install conduit.
- Must be proficient in the use of tools and to test equipment normally used in the Electricians craft.
- Must be proficient at reading prints sketches electrical diagrams and schematics for the fabrication installation and troubleshooting of work required of this craft.
- Must have a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code including but not limited to wire and hardware sizing grounding and circuit protection requirements.
- Preferred knowledge of installation troubleshooting and maintenance of overhead and underground primary and secondary power distribution systems.
- May be required to climb poles and perform work from an aerial basket.
- Requires strict adherence to electrical safe work practices and other Safety Fire and Security regulations.
- Ensures accurate and efficient replacement of parts and makes repairs and / or adjustments to equipment and systems.
- Performs duties under the direction of line management.
- Responsible for the maintenance of accurate records required during performance of job duties.
- Must work alone or with others as the job and safe work practices require.
- Responsible for maintaining a knowledge of applicable Federal State Department Of Energy (DOE) Corporate and Plant rules regulations Labor Agreements and Plant-wide operating policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Required to attend and / or successfully complete training classes as determined by the Training and Development Technologies Department through General Employee Training (Reference DOE Order 426.2) and Management.
- Participates in worker involvement including input to work planning and methods to identify hazards and controls.
- Understands a workers right to stop work when they feel their own or others personal safety is jeopardized.
- Attends all required safety meetings and training. Offers suggestions on improvements to the work environment
