Job descriptionWork in a hospital Med / Surg unit caring for general medical and post-operative recovery patients Patient ratio is 1 : 5 on the unit Oncology Med / Surg overflow patient types may be encountered Float within scope as needed Nasally delivered oxygen administered via nasal cannula as needed Uses EPIC charting system 12-hour day shifts Responsible for providing nursing care for Med / Surg and post-operative recovery patients, including occasional oncology overflow Must pass an open book skills exam with 90% or higher during orientation Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas First time travelers are welcome to apply Required to float within scope as directed Two professional references required : one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years with employment dates and rehire eligibility noted Active NE or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted Minimum of 2 years RN experience required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required At least 1 year of Med / Surg experience required Must provide a driver's license to verify permanent residence is at least 50 miles from the facility Candidates may not have been employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
