Job Title : GCMS Chemist

Job Description

The GCMS Chemist primary responsibility is to provide support to laboratory staff as needed in all areas of laboratory operations. They will report to the general manager and / or operations manager for their daily assignment. The needs of the laboratory will change on a daily basis, as will the role.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepare and analyze samples after appropriate training, using analytical SOPs and instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies.
• Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Assist with validation and MDL studies.
• Assist with investigation and preparation of responses to client inquiries and corrective action requests (CARs).
• Input and maintain technical information as needed to support laboratory functions and operations.
• Maintain laboratory notebooks where applicable.
• Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a chemistry lab specializing in extractions. The position requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule, as longer hours, evenings, and / or weekend work will frequently be necessary as job duties demand. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00 / hr.
