Overview Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting an Oncologist to provide onsite services to eligible beneficiaries of the Providence VA Medical Center located at 830 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence, RI 02908.
Shift scheduling is generally Mon-Fri, 8 :
- 00am-4 : 30pm and call.

- Responsibilities Provide expert consultation and treatment to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Evaluate, triage, and prioritize consults from primary care and other services for outpatient Hematology-Oncology consultations.
- Obtain medical histories, conduct physical exams, order and evaluate lab tests, plan and prescribe treatments.
- Coordinate medical management and care with Primary Care and other multidisciplinary team members.
- Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions, coordinated with the next care setting.
- Communicate test results to patients and providers per VHA Directive 1088.
- Participate in tumor board discussions and other assigned clinical tasks.
- Provide on-call Hematology-Oncology services as scheduled (including evenings, weekends, and holidays).
- Be available for phone consultations within 15 minutes and onsite within 60 minutes during on-call periods.
- Perform administrative tasks such as peer review and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE).
- Attend staff meetings, quality improvement meetings, and participate in continuous quality improvement activities as required.
- Maintain timely and accurate medical records in the VA electronic health record system.
- Adhere to all standards of care as established by The Joint Commission, American Hospital Association, and American Society of Clinical Oncology.
- Follow all established medication policies and procedures (no sample medications to be provided).
- Ensure compliance with patient safety and infection control standards.
- Qualifications Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S.
- State, Territory, or D.C.
- Board Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Medical Hematology-Oncology.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent.
