SUMMARY
QCELLS, America is currently seeking an Environmental Engineer to work at our Cartersville, GA facility. This position will be responsible for assisting Qcells in achieving their environmental compliance needs for the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, and internal Qcells environmental policies. The Environmental Engineer works with the plant on air, water, and waste projects, collects environmental data, and collaborates with State & Federal agencies on compliance and permit issues. The candidate will have the opportunity to be part of a new plant design, build, and start-up in Cartersville, GA.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and complete projects within budget.
- Generate, prepare, and write environmental reports.
- Solve environmental problems related to water, air, and waste regulations.
- Develop air emission estimates for industrial processes.
- Prepare supporting documentation and reports, including engineering calculations, regulatory compliance reports, SWPP / SPCC Plans, Tier II reports, TRI reports, and permit applications.
- Collaborate with plant personnel and specialists to address environmental issues.
- Inspect facilities to evaluate operational effectiveness and compliance.
- Develop or present environmental compliance training sessions.
- Communicate effectively with federal, state, and local agencies on compliance issues.
- Serve as the point of contact for environmental inquiries, inspections, and audits.
- Prepare responses to inspections and audits, managing corrective actions.
- Foster a culture of environmental excellence and engagement among employees.
- Lead or participate in incident investigations, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Environmental Science.At least 3 years of experience in environmental compliance.Experience generating and writing environmental reports and plans.Ability to perform air emission calculations and interpret environmental regulations.Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Technical writing and presentation skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.Hanwha Q CELLS provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants.
