Engineering Technician

Engineering (Or Gis) Technician (Orlando, Fl)

We are seeking an engineering technician to join our team in orlando, fl. This role involves preparing and editing electric distribution design drawings based on field data and engineer input. You will assist with design development using autocad, gis, and proprietary tools, perform basic field data collection, and support design teams by updating drawings and entering data into project databases. Additionally, you will help assemble permit packages and easement documentation and conduct basic pole loading analysis with provided training. A key aspect of the role is performing initial self-checks before submitting designs for formal qa / qc review.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and edit electric distribution design drawings using field data and engineer input.
• Assist in design development utilizing autocad, gis, and proprietary tools.
• Perform basic field data collection, including pole measurements, photos, and gps logging.
• Support design teams by updating drawings and entering data into project databases.
• Help assemble permit packages and easement documentation.
• Conduct basic pole loading analysis, with training provided.
• Perform initial self-checks before submitting designs for formal qa / qc review.

Work Environment

The work environment is an open, collaborative space that promotes teamwork among designer engineers and design technicians supporting distribution projects for duke energy. You will work in groups on various projects, benefiting from a cooperative atmosphere.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00 / hr.
