Position Overview :

The Waiting Room Overview Ambassador is an integral part of Fourth Street in assisting patients with the care offered throughout Fourth Street Clinic. This position is a member of the clinic operations team responsible for assisting with patient management, navigating the clinic's registration and service processes, and managing the waiting room. The Waiting Room ambassador works closely with registration, triage, and volunteer staff to link patients to care and ensure the purpose of the clinic visit is fulfilled. This job is fast-paced, rewarding, and fun. This position provides a great introduction to healthcare and working with underserved populations, offering additional opportunities for professional growth.

Core Responsibilities :

  • Assist patients in accessing clinic services by providing information, enrolling them in waitlists, and addressing their questions.
  • Monitoring the waiting room to maintain a pleasant waiting environment and notifying staff as necessary when issues arise.
  • Facilitate clinic flow by monitoring and updating the patient tracking board.
  • Utilize trauma-informed care approaches and support.
  • Opportunities to work alongside the registration team to assist with registration processes, as well as participate in other in-clinic patient-related activities.
  • Assist triage RN staff with patient communications and triage process.
  • Participate in activities and training opportunities to enhance job satisfaction and performance.

Qualification :

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2 years or more of customer service
  • Spanish-speaking required
  • Ability to be on feet for extended periods of time, with or without accommodations
  • Ability to multitask varying priorities.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and general computer proficiency
  • Experience with or knowledge of electronic medical records systems, or any experience in a medical office preferred
