Logistics Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Logistics Manager to lead end-to-end order fulfillment operations, from EDI order receipt through confirmed shipment. This role is critical in ensuring timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery across internal warehouses and third-party logistics (3PL) partners. The ideal candidate will bring a strong logistics experience, hands-on ERP experience, and a continuous improvement mindset to optimize service levels and reduce exceptions.

Coordinate pickups (FTL, LTL, multi-vendor consolidation) and dock times with carriers / 3PLs to meet delivery windows.

Monitor orders via 3PL portals and proactively resolve exceptions (e.g., temperature control, appointment delays).

Maintain shipment documentation (BOLs, labels, COAs) and ensure compliance with regulatory and customer-specific requirements.

Manage transfers between production, distribution centers, and 3PLs; optimize loads for cube and cost efficiency.

Develop and maintain SOPs / playbooks; collaborate with Customer Service and Warehouse teams to reduce accessorial charges and cycle times.

Support month-end close processes, including shipment cutoffs and KPI reporting.

Contribute to freight and 3PL performance scorecards.

Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, traffic, order management, or 3PL coordination (food or CPG industry preferred).

At least 23 years in a managerial or supervisory role.

Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and familiarity with TMS / 3PL portals.

Strong communication and follow-through skills; thrives in deadline-driven environments.

Willingness to work flexible hours and support occasional after-hours / on-call needs.

Comfortable working in cold environments (PPE provided); able to lift up to 3040 lbs occasionally.

Experience with ERP systems (Aptean or similar) and EDI flows (850, 940 / 945, 856; 214 / 210).

Familiarity with food safety and cold-chain logistics.

Lean / Kaizen mindset with SOP writing and process documentation skills.

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00 / yr.
