Board Certified / Board Eligible Urologist (1099).

Pay rate : $255.00 per (1099).

Location : Martinsburg VA Medical Center, 500 Butler Avenue, Martinsburg, WV 25405.

Schedule : Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm, on call hours required are 10 days per month, two which will occur over a weekend.

• Patients must be seen on-site at the facility in a timely manner in accordance with VA Rules and Regulations on clinic wait times and consultation completion.
• Patients that have telephone appointments shall be called in a timely manner in accordance with VA Rules and Regulations on clinic wait times and consult completion. Calls must be made from the on-site facility.
• Shall be available and present in clinic during normal facility clinic hours, which will be established, and may be revised, as deemed appropriate for patient care by the Chief of Staff. Currently, normal clinic hours are 8 : 00 am–4 : 30 pm.
• Off-hours Coverage : Must be available during all hours when the facility clinic is closed, including evenings and weekends as directed by on-call schedule.
• Weeknight call : Urologist shall be on-call from 4 : 30 pm to 8 : 00 am on weeknights. The Urologist should provide weeknight calls an average of 8 days per month. The number of coverage days for weeknight calls is variable dependent on staffing levels.
• Weekend call : Urologist shall be on-call from 8 : 00 am Saturday to 8 : 00 am Sunday and / or 8 : 00 am Sunday to 8 : 00 am Monday. Urologist shall provide weekend call coverage with an average of one (1) weekend per month. The number of coverage days for weekend call are variable dependent on staffing levels.
• On-call providers must be available within 15 minutes by phone and on-site, within 60 minutes.

Qualifications :

License : Shall have a current license to practice medicine in any state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia. All licenses held by the key personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses.

Board certification : Shall be Board Certified / Board Eligible by the American Board of Urology (ABU) and be currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency. All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be always kept up to date. Must have successful completion of an approved residency program in Urology during which 3 years were devoted to Urological surgery.

Direct Patient Care : estimated 95% of the time involved in direct patient care.

Clinic and Surgical Care : Shall provide clinical urology services including evaluating and treating patients in an Urological outpatient clinic daily, seeing patients on consult, coordinating referral of consults, when necessary, cystoscopies, surgeries and other related urology procedures and basic urological care. Physician will make in patient rounds for Urological patients. Will perform cystoscopies in clinic and will perform vasectomies, scrotal surgeries, ureteroscopies, transurethral surgeries for prostate disease and bladder cancer. Robotics, laparoscopies and major complex urologic surgery are not required. Shall be present on time for any scheduled clinics / surgeries as documented by physical presence in the clinic or operating room at the scheduled start time.

Specialty Exams : Shall provide direct patient care including specialty exams such as compensation and pension, agent orange, etc., as it pertains to urological conditions only.

Medications : Shall follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients.

Discharge education : Shall provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all urology clinical or surgical patients.

Administrative : Estimated up to 5% of time not involved in direct patient care to include mandatory trainings, meetings, etc.
