Role
The Publicist is responsible for managing the success of client PR campaigns by developing media strategies, conducting targeted outreach, and maintaining regular communication with both clients and media contacts. This role ensures client visibility across national, regional, podcast, radio, and TV platforms, while also contributing to broader brand awareness and engagement. Publicists are key relationship builders and storytellers who drive results by connecting the right narrative to the right outlet.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic PR plans tailored to each client
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients
- Build, grow, and create new client relationships
- Conduct media research and build and update targeted media lists
- Secure, filter, and respond to media opportunities
- Schedule and coordinate media interviews, ensuring all logistics are handled
- Follow up with media contacts to confirm placements and coverage timelines
- Monitor coverage through Google Alerts and track mentions or product features
- Facilitate writing projects with team in alignment with client goals and deliverables
- Monitor news trends and identify timely angles for client exposure
- Provide daily (Monday–Friday) client updates and maintain consistent communication
- Prepare and send biweekly and monthly reports and lookbooks
- Maintain updated media trackers to record media coverage and interview status
