JOB TITLE : Medical Assistant : Full Time - Day Shift

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES :
- Schedules patients for pain procedures and manages schedule to fill gaps.
- Demonstrates exemplary customer service at all points of care.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize provider scheduling is required for this position.
- Assists with patient telephone calls such as referrals, injection / infusion line, nursing voicemails, etc.
- Triage and return calls to patients regarding upcoming procedures and / or appointments.
- Rooms patients including obtaining vital signs, chief complaints, an accurate mediation list and any other criteria defined by provider.
- Documents care given to patients utilizing the electronic medical record.
- Communicates unusual or emergent situation to the registered nurse in a timely manner.
- Actively protects patient and self by following OSHA and other standards reviewed in annual training.
- Assists physicians with diagnostic procedures; tests and treatments.
- As required, complete annual KDHE radiology credits to maintain ability to assist in the pain center procedure room, when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS :
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) diploma, radiology certification preferred.One-year RMA experience in an acute care facility or with acute care patients.Equal Opportunity Employer
