Medical Assistant - Pain Center, FT Days

JOB TITLE : Medical Assistant : Full Time - Day Shift

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES :

• Schedules patients for pain procedures and manages schedule to fill gaps.
• Demonstrates exemplary customer service at all points of care.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize provider scheduling is required for this position.
• Assists with patient telephone calls such as referrals, injection / infusion line, nursing voicemails, etc.
• Triage and return calls to patients regarding upcoming procedures and / or appointments.
• Rooms patients including obtaining vital signs, chief complaints, an accurate mediation list and any other criteria defined by provider.
• Documents care given to patients utilizing the electronic medical record.
• Communicates unusual or emergent situation to the registered nurse in a timely manner.
• Actively protects patient and self by following OSHA and other standards reviewed in annual training.
• Assists physicians with diagnostic procedures; tests and treatments.
• As required, complete annual KDHE radiology credits to maintain ability to assist in the pain center procedure room, when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
