RN Director | Akron, OH | Days

Education : BSN & MSN (or Master's in Business / Healthcare); nursing license in Ohio; certification required or to be obtained within 2 years.

Experience : 5 years nursing experience, including 2 years in management or supervision in acute care.

Skills : Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, analytical ability, and proficiency with multiple systems.

Reports to : Associate Chief Nursing Officer (Med / Surg & Telemetry).

Direct reports : Nurse Manager – Float Pool (1 FTE), Scheduling Assistant (7.4 FTE), RN Admin Supervisors (22 FTE), Nursing Assistants – Companion Float Pool (25 FTE).

Manages patient flow in coordination with the Regional Call Center and Nursing Regional Float Pool.

Oversees nursing unit productivity, acuity, and off-shift nursing supervision.

Provides administrative oversight for the Companion Float Pool and Clinical Decision Unit.

Leads interdisciplinary teams, driving change and continuous improvement.

Coaches, mentors, and empowers staff to deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care.

Ensures alignment with corporate strategic plans and service excellence standards.

Manages general nursing operations : scheduling, staffing, payroll, reporting, and patient logistics.

Indirect report : Nurse Manager – Clinical Decision Unit (1 FTE).

Accountable for budget management and maintaining productivity at or above 100%.

BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications required

5 years of RN experience

2 years of supervision, management or logistical coordination in an acute inpatient hospital setting
