Job description

Senior Level Career In Aerospace And Aviation

Scope of work / Position Responsibilities :

  • Apply nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods / approaches, such as acoustic, electromagnetic, thermal, optical and radiologic principles, in developing new and novel methods / approaches to address affordability and supportability objectives
  • Define requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and maintenance of products and approve their use
  • Lead development of specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes
  • Leads development, validation and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements
  • Manages test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements
  • Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and customer requirements (ASNT, ASTM, AWS, ASME, ISO, etc.)
  • Support audits, root cause analyses, and failure investigations as a subject matter expert
  • Support the Team Lead and work statement, assist defining strategies and / or provides consultation

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) :

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, physics or chemistry
  • Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) :

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in NDE / NDT engineering in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, defense, energy)
  • Experience with nondestructive evaluation processes (e.g., ultrasonic testing, radiography, eddy current testing, and penetrant inspection)
  • Experience working in multi-discipline teams, a strong desire to work with technical and non-technical customers
  • Strong understanding of materials behavior, stress analysis, and fracture mechanics
  • Experience with project management tools
  • Excellent time management skills to manage several simultaneous projects effectively and across various geographical locations
  • Typical Education / Experience : Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
