Position Summary
Staten Island Center for Independent Living (SICIL) is seeking dedicated and engaged individuals to join our Board of Directors. Board Members play a critical role in advancing our mission by providing governance, advocacy, fundraising support, and community connections. We are looking for leaders who are passionate about disability rights, community inclusion, and organizational growth. This is an unpaid, volunteer opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Support and advance the mission of SICIL.
- Actively participate in board meetings, committee work, and organizational activities.
- Serve as an ambassador for SICIL by networking, making connections, and raising awareness of our work.
- Assist in fundraising efforts, including personal contributions and engaging your network.
- Attend events and activities that support SICIL’s mission.
- Provide insight, expertise, and guidance in areas relevant to organizational development.
- Commit to a minimum of one (1) year of service, with preference for longer-term involvement.

Board Members commit to serving for a minimum of one (1) year, with the expectation of attending board meetings, supporting key events, and contributing to fundraising efforts. Terms of service will be confirmed in accordance with SICIL’s bylaws.
