About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chair for the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing visionary leadership, developing and implementing a strategic vision that advances education, biomedical research, and clinical care. This role requires a strong background in academic and research excellence, with a focus on driving research and academic programs, overseeing faculty recruitment and development, and fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. The Chair will also be tasked with ensuring the department's compliance with university, state, and federal policies, managing the department's budget, and serving as a liaison between the department, college leadership, and clinical partners.
Applicants for the Chair position must have a terminal degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent), a minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership role, and a proven track record of academic and research achievements. The role demands a candidate with strong interpersonal and communication skills, expertise in faculty management, and a commitment to the professional development of faculty and staff. Familiarity with academic program development, accreditation standards, and higher education policies is preferred. The ideal candidate will have expertise in areas such as multi-omics, bioinformatics, systems biology, or computational biology, and in specific medical fields like oncology, cardiovascular and pulmonary systems, neurosciences, or orthopedics. The Chair will be instrumental in building and sustaining high-quality, funded research programs and supporting faculty engaged in graduate and medical education research initiatives.
