Description :

The position involves working in an outpatient infusion center.

The unit has a total of 15 beds.

Patient-to-nurse ratios are typically 1 to 5 or 6 patients.

RNs are required to titrate drips, though this is a rare occurrence.

Common titratable medications include chemotherapy agents.

There is one charge nurse on the unit.

Medical assistants are available for support.

The unit usesHospira IV infusion pumps for medication delivery.

There are no telemetry monitors on this unit, and RNs do not read strips.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, with no weekend or holiday requirements.

There is no call or standby requirement for this position.

RNs may float to sister facilities as needed.

Dress code includes solid scrubs.

Unit-specific orientation for oncology infusion will be provided.

This is a close-knit community cancer center environment.
