The IT Network Engineer position requires advanced knowledge of networking, routing, and how infrastructure works. Incumbents are expected to display a high level of problem-solving capabilities to move projects forward efficiently and effectively while providing unparalleled customer service.
- This is a senior-level role for our Information Technology and Help Desk Departments.
The position is responsible for performing and delivering tasks related to installation, configuration, and removal of networking equipment at client-based facilities. Additionally, this role requires qualitative and quantitative analytical and problem-solving skills in order to facilitate and lead projects related to network support.
Employees in this position serve as the final escalation point for others within the company and are expected to display a high level of customer service and communication while delivering project outcomes on time and satisfying client or other stakeholder requirements.
Additionally, those in the IT Network Engineer role are diligent and organized team players who can troubleshoot and resolve multiple issues by multi-tasking, prioritizing, and managing time effectively.

- Key Responsibilities
- Leadership. Displays leadership capabilities while providing client management, people management, internal technical expertise, and a blended role of these functionalities.
o Expected to be a

- leader, communicator, and representative of Infinity Technologies with our clients. Maintains positive client relationships and ensures our teams assigned to work with the client are meeting (or exceeding) the client’s expectations.
o Mentor others to provide guidance and training on IT related knowledge and application as well as customer service best practices.
- Advanced Knowledge. Serves as the last escalation point to resolve technical issues. Provide IT technical support either by phone, remote access, or site visits as needed.
- Project Management. Responsible for leading advanced projects both internally and externally.
o Identifies project planning needs and support for client. Asks questions to determine appropriate course of action tailored to client’s needs and requirements. Proactively identifies missing pieces and implements accordingly.
o Responsible for successfully delivering internal and external assigned projects within agreed upon timeline to client satisfaction. Uses Infinity Project Management platform often to provide status updates, following appropriate procedures.
o Communicates technical issues and solutions with customers in terms appropriate for the audience.
- Design & architecture. Understands basic network design, architecture, and layers of the OSI model.
- Routing & switching. Understands and can configure, deploy, monitor and troubleshoot switches and routers.
- Firewalls. Understands and can configure, deploy, monitor and troubleshoot firewalls.
- Wireless networking. Understands and can configure, deploy, monitor and troubleshoot access points, controllers, and end-user devices.
- Data center / IDF. Understands and can deploy, monitor and troubleshoot fiber interconnects, low-voltage cabling and UPS systems.
- Possess expertise in the assigned technology domain.
- Manage, maintain, monitor and support the infrastructure environment in the assigned technology domain.
- Install, configure and support hardware and software required to operate assigned technology.
- Provide ongoing maintenance including updates, patches, and anti-virus updates.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in assigned technology including hardware, software, operating system and application-related issues.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to technology installation, administration, and maintenance.
- Process routine change requests and work orders.
- Perform data analysis / trending on the network and applications as required.
- Develop and distribute notifications for outages, progress and summaries of actions as directed.
- Understands and can configure Firewall / Switches and Routers through command line.
- Understands and can configure SAN / NAS creating LUNS and Storage repositories.
- Understands data packet capture
- Understands and can configure VLANs
- Provides clear documentation of completed projects for various stakeholders.
- Document issues and resolution in IT Documentation Systems.
- Resolve, respond to, and update tickets in Ticketing Systems.
- Stays abreast of current and new technologies related to role.
- Must be available for after-hours calls as needed and respond in a timely manner.
- May participate in team on-call rotation (as required)

- Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience providing desktop support experience, including but not limited to :
- o Desktop and laptop hardware;
- o MS Windows 10 and 11;
- o MS Office 2016 / Office 365 applications;
o Azure
- o Mobile devices (i.e. iPhone, Android, etc.);
o VoIP Phone Services (Hosted VoIP Solutions).
- 5+ years of hands-on Server Administration experience, including but not limited to :
- o Active Directory / Directory Services (AD, DNS, DHCP, WINS);
- o Hands-on desktop experience (WIN10 and WIN 11) and troubleshooting;
- o HP / Dell Server hardware;
- o Email Systems / Message Integration and Collaboration / Office 365;
o Understanding virtualization technologies.
- 3+ years of networking and architecture experience. Understanding of TCP / IP, and DNS terminology and knowledge of how to troubleshoot. Hands on experience with LAN / WAN security architectures, frameworks, and components.
- 3+ years of hand on experience supporting, deploying, and configuring Hypervisors (Hyper V, VM ware).
- CompTIA+ Certification (Note : External applicants who do not hold this certification at the time of hire will remain in the introductory / probationary period until they successfully obtain certification).
- CompTIA Server+ Certification (Note : External applicants who do not hold this certification at the time of hire will remain in the introductory / probationary period until they successfully obtain certification. Additionally, Management reserves the right to waive this requirement for internal applicants with appropriately demonstrated knowledge and application of server administration).
- Network+ Certification (Note : External applicants who do not hold this certification at the time of hire will remain in the introductory / probationary period until they successfully obtain certification).
- Security+ Certification (Note : External applicants who do not hold this certification at the time of hire will remain in the introductory / probationary period until they successfully obtain certification. Additionally, Management reserves the right to waive this requirement for internal applicants with appropriately demonstrated knowledge and application of server administration).
- Ability to resolve issues related to Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office / Office 365, and Microsoft Server Architecture, as well as an understanding of WAN / LAN network troubleshooting.
- Understanding of OSPF, BGP touting protocols, VOIP and QoS.
- Ability to configure and manage firewalls and switches.
- Well versed in SAN technologies, with demonstrated technical application of knowledge.
- Advanced knowledge of server architecture. Understands the bridge between servers and networks and how to connect the two.
- Configuring and creating databases with Microsoft SQL.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Advanced Troubleshooting knowledge.
- Well-versed in IT documentation practices, understanding the importance of how critical it is to maintain accurate and detailed documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent reasoning, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent decision-making skills to plan, perform, problem-solve.
- Comfortable speaking to clients regarding their technology needs and making recommendations.

- Education
