General Function
Plan and organize the activities of an assigned program area; provide responsible staff support to the administrator; manage the activities of program’s faculty and staff; interface external customers to determine current training needs.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assists the administrator in developing planning, implementing and administering goals and objectives of the assigned area.
2. May recruit, interview, recommend trainers / instructors / staff and provide orientation for assigned area; may monitor and evaluate trainer / instructor / staff performance.
3. May prepare documentation for the origination of classes; may schedule dates, rooms and trainers / instructors; may review class schedule for accuracy.
4. May monitor course offerings and recommend additions, changes, deletions to keep program / area current; may coordinate the development of course outlines and materials in assigned area.
5. May initiate the marketing of assigned program areas; may recruit students; may work with marketing staff and prepare marketing materials and literature for distribution to potential students; may make presentations to schools, organizations and agencies.
6. May provide administrative assistance to immediate supervisor; may develop, prepare and present recommendations and reports; may coordinate activities with other program areas.
7. May teach courses within the assigned area; may demonstrate high degree of skill in teaching; may model effective teaching techniques for trainers / instructors.
8. May advise students on a variety of academic and administrative matters; may assess students in training needs for program / area; may suggest alternate courses of action.
9. May identify qualified persons to serve on advisory committees and recommend to administrator; may meet with advisory committee and follows up on recommendations; may submit committee meeting minutes.
10. May review needs for equipment, supplies and instructional materials and recommends purchase; may monitor facilities, if assigned, for proper use, safety, security and maintenance.
11. Ensures program accreditation, certification and licensure; may serve on industry committees, tasks forces, professional organizations, etc. to represent the program and the college.
12. May handle the submission of initial employment forms for employees; may assist students with job placement.
13. May design and deliver sales presentation to business and industry.
14. May research and develop future program areas, entrepreneurial and grant opportunities; may coordinate and monitor grant / special projects as assigned by the supervising administrator.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in a discipline relating to the assigned program area and two years of managerial or administrative experience; additional experience or certification may be required for certain programs

Salary for this position is $20.37hr. Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include off-shift hours, evening and weekend assignments may be required of any position. All positions are subject to budget approval.
