Our Business and Professions Division (BPD) has a great opportunity for a Licensing Services Manager with strong leadership and customer service skills to add to their team!

Duties

As the Licensing Services Manager for our Licensing and Customer Support Services (LCSS), you will have the opportunity to create a culture where our employees and customers feel valued and respected. Reviewing staff work will be a regular task for you. As will understanding proposed legislation to analyze potential impact and inconsistencies. You will gather, analyze, and translate complex datasets into actionable recommendations through the development and delivery of reports. Your work will require clear communication and responses to customers and our partners.

Some of what you will do :

  • Direct and oversee staff work including providing direction, workflow management, coaching, and reporting metrics.
  • Train the trainers for consistency on processes and expectations.
  • Facilitate the flow of information and communication between staff and section management while overseeing data collection for report submittal.
  • Maintain knowledge and communicate current statutes, administrative codes, policies, and procedures relating to assigned business and professional licensing programs.
  • Recommend, interpret, and influence laws, administrative rules, policies and procedures related to business programs.

Qualifications

What you will bring :

  • Four (4) years of experience in a licensing or regulatory environment.
  • Three (3) years of experience appropriately supervising staff, providing guidance and coaching through changes.
  • One (1) year of experience with the following : Following all applicable laws, rules, agency policies, procedures, and guidelines related to a licensing and regulatory environment.Communicating effectively verbally and in writing to a diverse clientele while respecting and maintaining confidentiality including template usage to create accurate and legally sufficient documents.Listening attentively, identifying issues, providing options, fulfilling services, and exercising knowledge of laws and regulations to assist others or resolve complaints or conflicts.
  • Up to two (2) years of relevant education may substitute year for year for experience. What may help set you apart :

  • A Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, social or behavioral science or an allied field.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in state licensing and regulation.
  • Experience enforcing governmental laws, rules, regulations, and standards in a way the public perceives as fair, objective, and reasonable.
  • Experience working with subject matter experts and psychometricians to develop defensible, reliable, and appropriate exams.
  • Experience writing emails and letters to customers answering questions, providing information or explaining decisions made regarding eligibility for licensing or compliance with rules.
