  • Unit : Neuro Medical-Surgical / Telemetry (Med / Surg Tele)\n
  • Facility Size : 22 beds\n
  • Assignment Length : 13-week travel RN contract\n
  • Start Date : September 29, 2025\n
  • Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM)\n
  • Hours per Week : 36 guaranteed\n
  • Weekend / Holiday Rotation : Every other weekend and holiday\n
  • Float Requirement : May float to other medical units\n
  • Scrub Colors : Navy Blue\n

    • \n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n \n

  • Active Illinois RN license (Registered Nurse – Illinois)\n
  • Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required; BSN preferred\n
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Telemetry RN experience\n
  • At least 1 previous travel nursing assignment\n
  • Neuro nursing experience required\n
  • Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications\n
  • Proficiency with EPIC charting system\n
  • Ability to perform strong neuro assessments and pass dysphagia screen\n
  • COVID-19 vaccine not required (subject to change)\n
  • Resilient, adaptable, and strong team player\n
  • No local candidates (must reside outside a 40-mile radius of Marion, IL)\n

    • \n\nMed / Surg Tele RN Responsibilities\n \n

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to neuro and neuro-surgical patients, including those with CVAs, elective back / neck surgeries, and cerebral angiograms\n
  • Conduct comprehensive neuro assessments, dysphagia screens, and telemetry interpretation\n
  • Manage medical overflow patients as needed\n
  • Administer blood products, perform venipuncture, and collect blood cultures\n
  • Initiate and titrate heparin and stable IV drips (e.g., Protonix, Lasix)\n
  • Manage NG tubes, indwelling drains, straight caths, and Foley catheters\n
  • Maintain accurate intake & output records\n
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and adapt to changing unit needs\n
  • Float to other medical units as required\n
