Position Summary :
To be an active member of the dietary team. To provide the best dietary service for the patients, guests, and employees.
Education, License & Cert :
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience :
Previous experience preferred but not necessary. Basic understanding of therapeutic diets desirable.
Essential Functions :
1. Prepare specified food items using standardized recipes for patient tray service and cafeteria, according to food production sheets.
2. Maintains high standards of quality for all food items served. 3. Dates and stores leftover food as required by department procedures.
4. Performs procedures for cleaning and sanitizing food service equipment and maintains a neat and clean work area.
5. Demonstrates awareness of nutrition standards. 6. Demonstrates cost effective cooking by using recipes.
7. Assists in dishing food and makes certain that the correct food is going to the patient for all meals.
8. Utilizes appropriate resources when faced with complex food service problems.
9. Must be able to work on a rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.
Other Duties :
1. Other duties as assigned.
2. Utilizes proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
3. Practices proper safety procedures when using food service equipment, chopper, slicer, ovens, knives,etc.
4. Prepares necessary food items for special function meals as assigned in addition to daily duties.
5. Responsible for taking phone calls while on duty while completing daily work assignments.
6. Must be willing to accept non‐routine work assignments, within area of responsibility.
