About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in Kansas. This two-day opportunity begins on Dec 11, 2025, and features day shifts from 7 : 00am to 5 : 00pm. The role involves conducting NFPA 1582 physicals and clinical testing for firefighters, including EKG interpretation, respirator clearances, and reviewing diagnostic studies.

Responsibilities and Duties
Conduct NFPA 1582 physicals for firefightersPerform respirator clearance and interim firefighter clearancesReview and interpret EKGs, ultrasounds, and stress testsComplete clinical testing including hearing, vision, laboratory studies, pulmonary function, cardiograms, and x-raysPerform mandatory hernia exams; rectal exams are optionalWork collaboratively with the PHS team to ensure thorough and efficient clinical testingAdditional Information
Firefighter physical or occupational medicine experience strongly preferredMust hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationMust have Kansas state licensureFamily Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP) requiredAbility to efficiently manage high patient volume with exams every 15-20 minutesBenefits
