ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop the Engineering team to meet departmental, site, and company objectivesRecruit, train, coach, and motivate personnel to foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvementManage cross-functional teams and ensure alignment with strategic goalsProject & Resource Management
Develop and execute engineering strategies from concept to completionManage systems, resources, and projects to ensure timely delivery within budgetProvide strategic technical guidance and resolve complex engineering challengesProcess Optimization
Lead initiatives to design, develop, and optimize manufacturing and operational processesDrive improvements in efficiency, quality, and cost-effectivenessQualification & Validation
Oversee qualification and validation programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standardsRegulatory Compliance
Ensure engineering activities comply with cGMP and other relevant industry standardsServe as a subject matter expert during regulatory inspections and client auditsMaintain thorough documentation to support compliance effortsRisk Management
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure operational continuity and regulatory complianceVendor Management
Establish and maintain effective relationships with external engineering service providers and vendorsEnsure quality and timely delivery of outsourced services and componentsBudget Management
Develop and manage capital and operational budgets for engineering projects and departmental activitiesEXPECTATIONS
Follows applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs)Perform duties following company quality and safety standardsParticipate in team building, training, and department communicationsMaintain a high level of personal and professional integrityPerform additional job responsibilities as assignedQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred8–12 years of experience in operational engineering within regulated life sciences manufacturing (Pharmaceutical, Biologic, Medical Device, Combination Products)Strong technical expertise in life sciences manufacturing processes, equipment, and engineering principlesProven experience managing complex engineering projects in a fast-paced, highly regulated environmentDeep understanding of cGMP and other relevant standards and regulationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesDemonstrated ability to lead and motivate engineering teams and manage cross-functional groupsKEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
