Responsibilities Work in the Pre-Op and PACU units of an acute care hospital setting Patient populations include pre-surgical and post-anesthesia recovery, with common cases such as GI endoscopies, orthopedics, plastics, and general surgery Must be able to recover ICU patients in PACU when needed Cerner is the charting system used in this position Pre-op 10-hour shifts with staggered starts of 5 : 30am, 6 : 00am, and 7 : 00am; PACU 10-hour shifts with starts at 7am, 8am, and 9am Call required : one weekend per month (Friday end of shift through Monday 6am), plus 6-8 weeknight calls per month (end of shift to 6am) Weekend and holiday coverage may be required Floating to nearby facilities for Pre-Op / PACU is expected Navy scrubs required Ventilator management expected in PACU Tele monitoring uses Phillips equipment Three shifts floor-specific orientation with a preceptor; first call shift is with a buddy Hospitalist or intensivist are on call for after-hours support Respiratory Therapy is available 24 / 7; pharmacy is on call after hours ICU patient recovery duties included in PACU Candidates must not have been employed by CommonSpirit (including CHI / Dignity) within the past year in any capacity other than PRN through outside agencies Holiday coverage may be required as part of the staffing plan Requirements Active CA RN license required prior to consideration Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience in Pre-Op and PACU Current certifications : ACLS, BLS, and PALS Experience with Cerner EMR preferred Ability to pass an EKG competency exam during orientation References : one supervisor reference from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the past 3 years, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility Copy of Driver's License required for consideration Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-633795.
