Position Summary : The Lifestyle Assistant is responsible for implementation of all programs and ensuring that it is therapeutic to the residents and maximizes their quality of life. Maplewood Senior Living offers a full range of social, physical, cognitive, emotional, spiritual and purposeful programs to meet overall wellbeing of our residents. The Driver is responsible for transporting residents in community owned vehicles in a safe, secure, and timely manner. She / he provides an outstanding customer experience to residents and families to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide outstanding customer service to all residents, family members, responsible persons, and visitors of residents in the community
- Demonstrate requisite knowledge, skills and abilities consistent with the duties & responsibilities of this position.
- Personable, reliable and a great communicator and team player.
- Able to relate professionally and positively to residents, incoming visitors and associates at all levels.
- Provide ongoing communication to the Lifestyle Director regarding staffing issues or concerns
- Transports residents to and from medical appointments, activities, and shopping errands using the community owned vehicle.
- Reads the transportation schedule daily and assures scheduled appointments can be met
- Partners with Program Director and other managers to schedule appointments for residents as needed
- Communicates effectively and timely if unable to make scheduled resident appointments
- Available for unscheduled transportation needs in an emergency
- Monitors resident activity and alerts staff when assistance is necessary to ensure resident safety
- Completes routine vehicle inspection checks and informs Program Director and / or Executive Director of any maintenance problems or safety issues that need to be addressed
- Ensures community vehicles are clean and tidy
- Is thoroughly familiar with fire, missing persons, and other emergency procedures
- Follows community policy and procedures detailed in fire and disaster plans
- Participates in department meetings as scheduled
- Completes required monthly in-services
- Completes other duties that are assigned by management team
- Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor (Lifestyle Director).
- Attend Monthly All Associate meetings
- Other duties as assigned
Education / Experience / Licensure / Certification :
Must possess a passion for working with the senior population and improving their quality of lifeExcellent communication, organization and time management skillBasic typing skills and computer knowledge; familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Publisher and creative softwareDriver requirements : Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
