Job descriptionRegistered Nurse position at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center Primarily Medical Surgical patients with Oncology history and occasional Chemotherapy administration Target Ratios : 1 : 6-7 Shift : NIGHTS Call Requirement : Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend required Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster Minimum Years of Experience : 1 year Traveler Experience : Will accept 1st time travelers Skills : Administer chemo, experience in an inpatient setting, Med / Surg, Colostomy care, Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care / Management, PICC line management, Heparin, Insulin, Chemotherapy Administration, Monitoring Chemotherapy, Surgical drains, Chest tubes-Emerson / Pleur-evac, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care / Wound Vac Certifications : Chemotherapy administration certification required prior to start; BLS required RTO : 7 days MAX. If 48 then no OT billed until after 48 Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding Attendance to monthly staff meetings Daily Census : 42 Unit Systems : PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR Unit Orientation : 24 hrs (2 shifts)
