Manufacturing Engineering Manager (Guitar Production)

Type of Position : DIRECT HIRE

Job Location :

Nashville, TN (relocation assistance is available for non-local candidates).

Compensation :

$115K-130k / yr base pay along with up to 10% bonus (depending on performance).

Job Description :

HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a world-famous American manufacturer of guitars, amplifiers, and accessories to help hire a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for our production facility in Nashville, TN. The job of the Engineering Manager is to plan and execute best practices and advanced methods born from manufacturing engineering knowledge that will dramatically reduce injuries, improve quality, and increase throughput within our operating footprint. This position is commissioned to transform our manufacturing capability through a broad lens of engineered solutions while maintaining the hand-crafted feel that customers revere.

Essential Functions :

Develop and execute projects to implement technological advances within our operations

Develop strategies that enable step-change performance of our operations

Stay on the leading edge of automation and technical solutions that can be applied within our environment

Provide thought leadership to our teams in areas of process technology, automation and facility infrastructure

Build and lead highly capable team of engineers to execute advancements in safety, quality, waste reduction, capacity expansion and productivity

Collaborate with other managers and leadership to set and assess priorities across teams Active support and participation in the corrective and preventive action process, with responsibility for department deliverables

Lead overall project pipeline to achieve ongoing cost reduction goals.

Lead identification and development of CapEx projects for the facility

Collaborate with maintenance department to implement improvements and ensure preventative maintenance of all equipment is performed

Collaborate with Product Development and Materials Management to establish and maintain product drawings, specifications, bills of materials, production routers

Develop technological roadmaps for each of our facility

Represent operations and supply chain to our leadership in professional manner

Other duties as assigned / needed.

Required Skills / Abilities :

On-display business acumen to effectively interact with executives, contractors and suppliers

Implementing and sustaining processes where none may exist

Education / Experience :

Bachelor of Science Degree is required. Advanced degree is preferred.

5+ years of engineering leadership experience in a highly technical manufacturing environment making consumer goods where performance and aesthetics are critical.

Experience with manufacturing processes and production flow

Experience with project management of Capex >

$5M and duration >

6 months

Automation experience

Guitar experience preferred but not required.

Surface finishing experience preferred but not required.

Work Environment / Other Info :

This will be a 1st (day) shift role (in other words, typical work hours)

This role is 100% on site.

This position will be in a combination of environments. This will include office environments, manufacturing environments, and showrooms.

There may be occasional rare travel to other company facilities (10% or less travel).
