Financial Manager

What You'll Be Doing :

  • Manage Cash Control, Direct Billing and Financial Adjustments & Resolution departments
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on policy changes
  • Team with other agency divisions to complete special projects by providing financial expertise to various agency insurance programs
  • Oversee fund collection for annual premium true up process by Ohio's employers
  • Provide critical support to the Controller during high-pressure situations

Qualifications :

66 mos. exp. or 66 mos. trg. financial administration. Or completion of undergraduate core program in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 42 mos. exp. or 42 mos. trg. in financial administration. Or completion of graduate core program in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in financial administration. Or 12 mos. exp. as Financial Program Manager, 66585. Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. NOTE : Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 mos. of required accounting / fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications. Knowledge of : Agency, Division & Department policies & standard operating procedures; supervisory principles & techniques; employee training & development; business administration; accounting; applicable state & federal laws, rules, procedures & standards governing fiscal & budgetary operations

  • ; government structure & process
  • ; budgeting, technical writing; human & public relations.
  • Skill in : personal computer; software (e.g. Microsoft Office products)

  • ; operation & updating BWC systems (i.e., Core Suite, UDS, Oracle, OAKS, bwc.ohio.gov)
  • ; effective business communications.
  • Ability to : deal with large number of fiscal & budgetary variables & determine specific courses of action; gather, collate & classify information about data, people or things; handle routine & sensitive inquiries from & contracts with officials & / or representatives of same & / or different political jurisdiction(s).
