Position : Regional Field Safety Manager / Influencer
Job Location : Hillsboro, Oregon
Job Summary : This position, under the direct supervision of the Corporate Safety Director, will assist in the development, implementation and coordination of the Corporate Industrial Safety & Health Program and DOT compliance programs.
Job Functions :
- Work with all employees to implement an Incident, Injury & Accident-Free Work Environment, through a Positive behavior-based Safety Culture, using PASS-CRANEMANSHIP-Dupont Bradley Curve.
- Maintain a Safety Culture that is outgoing, proactive and teamwork based with our field and management employees.
- Seek our industry’s best management practices and the most effective and efficient methods to achieve Safety and DOT compliance, including Operational Excellence in implementing an Incident, Injury and Accident Free Work Environment
- Maintain open communications with all staff members
- Adhere to all Federal, State and Local rules and regulations, lead by example
- Review pending and upcoming changes to Federal and State Safety and DOT regulations to ensure the company is prepared for future compliance requirements
- Develop, conduct and maintain Safety and DOT training
- Review all Safety and DOT incidents, injury and accident reports, investigates root cause and recommends appropriate corrective actions
- Perform Health & Safety and DOT random inspections, site specific, safety audits, and risk assessments to ensure effective implementation of Regulatory and Compliance requirements
- Maintain FMCS and DOT compliance files; driver files, operator licenses, MVR’s, driver history, certification of road tests, record of violations, safety performance past & present, etc.
- Attend job site Toolbox meetings
- Other duties as assigned by Senior Management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Knowledge of basic crane & rigging principles and skillsComprehensive knowledge and understanding of Federal and State OSHA & DOT safety and health regulationsEffective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to target communication to an intended audience, ranging from daily interaction with staff, leading training presentations, and interactions in meetings, and a strong commitment to customer satisfactionMust be a self starter, highly organized, solve problems and multi-taskExcellent computer skills required; i.e. must have knowledge of all Microsoft Office Programs, such as : Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.Ability to adapt to change, quickly and efficientlyAbility to work under stressful conditions, while meeting deadlinesNormal physical strength & fitness to work in typical construction project sites, including loud environments, climbing stairs, walk across rough terrain and work in extreme weather conditionsAbility to work extended hoursAbility and desire to travel domestically 75 % of the time. Travel is primarily in Washington & Oregon & IdahoEducation & Qualifications :
High School completion required, college degree preferredMinimum of 5 years direct experience in OSHA & DOT compliance related fieldNationally recognized Safety Certification preferred, e.g. CSP, ASP, CHST, etc.
